Typing Monsters

Privacy policy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

This policy explains what information Typing Monsters (typingmonsters.com, "we") collects when you play, and what third-party services on the site do. The short version: we don't ask for your name, email or any account, and you can play without giving us anything.

Information stored on your device

The game uses your browser's local storage to remember settings and progress: your hero name (randomly generated unless you change it), sound preference, best scores and similar game state. This stays in your browser. You can delete it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Game scores

When a game ends, your score, level, words per minute, accuracy, the date and your hero name may be saved to our score database (Google Firebase) so we can show high scores. Hero names are generated randomly by default; please don't use your real name or other personal details as a hero name. No email address, account or device identifier is attached to a score.

Feedback messages

If you send feedback through the site, we receive the text you write and use it only to reply and improve the game. Don't include personal information you don't want us to have.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how many people play, which pages they visit and how long games last. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and pages viewed. We don't use it to identify you personally. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Advertising and cookies

This site uses Google AdSense to show ads, which keeps the game free.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland may be shown a consent message before personalised ads or analytics cookies are used. For details of how Google uses data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Children

Typing Monsters is suitable for players of all ages and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from children. Because we never ask for names, emails or accounts, children can play without giving us personal data. Parents who believe a child has entered personal information as a hero name can contact us to have that score removed.

Your choices and requests

You can clear local game data through your browser, block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and use the opt-out links above. To ask us to remove a score from our database, email us with the hero name, score and approximate date.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the site handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
